Science & Soul services
You may have noticed that this site is a bit unconventional.
That’s ‘cuz I like it that way. It’s a positive, science-based pet behaviorist’s site; it’s a writer’s site; and it’s an intuitive’s site. Each time I write and work for The Soulful Pet, I blend all aspects of me. The same goes for the unique methods & services I offer as an Intuitive Pet-life Guide (IPLG)™. That way, clients get my fully-present best, and my work continues to feed my soul. Win win! (Why does it take so long for us to learn that work shouldn’t feel like work? I’m so glad I finally got over that. Life’s too short for that noise. Now I think of it as professional play.)
Anyway (drumroll, please), here are the specialized services that I happily offer:
- Science-based services
Let’s work together to help you & your pet have the best relationship & bond possible. I specialize in in-home consultations, working with families, often with multiple pets. I love to make the seemingly impossible seem simply possible. As we develop a family & pet-friendly plan to address your concerns, I draw on my 25 years of experience as a positive trainer & behaviorist. Heck, my intuition is always running in the background because she’s part of me. But for these sessions, I reconcile her with science. So no fear: no “woo-woo” unless you want to overtly incorporate it. Find out more….
- Soul-based services
I’m really excited about this new aspect of The Soulful Pet! Soul-based sessions focus intuitively on both ends of the leash. As an intuitive, an empath & a medium, I can guide you toward a better understanding of yourself by way of the bonds you share with your pets. Animals come into our lives as teachers. We are here to learn life lessons. I bridge the communication gap between species so that we can all grow from our time together on this planet. Find out more….
Wanna work together? I’d love to hear from you!
PS – A bit if bio (if you’re into that sort of thing):
Ruth Hagen has been teaching people & their pets for over 25 years.
Her well-rounded background includes a B.S. in Biology and many years in veterinary nursing. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), the Pet Professional Guild’s Feline & Canine Divisions (PPG), and the Redwood Writers. She authored articles for “North Bay Pets Magazine” and consulted for “Cat Fancy” magazine. In addition to this website, Ruth wrote for CritterConsulting.com and RustysDogBlog.com. She’s also provided staff education on behavior/training topics for numerous veterinary hospitals and shelters, at their request. Most of her referrals come from happy clients, vets, rescues & shelters.Ruth’s interest in and love for animals began in childhood.
Growing up, she had a menagerie of pets, including frogs rescued from junior high biology class. In elementary school, she started training squirrels in her backyard – just for fun. (So it’s obvious she’s doing what she’s always loved.)Currently, she’s “dog-mom” to Rusty, a fabulously opinionated 12-yr-old miniature poodle.
Ruth lives in northern CA. When she’s not helping pets & their humans, she can be found hanging with friends, gardening, hiking, meditating, baking, wine tasting – and writing, of course. She’s FINALLY writing her book. Ruth is fond of saying, “Life lived authentically is all the sweeter.”
